Set up camp in the wildest parts of Africa! A short-safari for real adventurers. We’ll visit some of the most praised wildlife parks in the world and the legendary Ngorongoro Crater.
During this safari, you’ll visit Lake Manyara National Park. This park is famous for its huge lake and green surroundings. Next up is a day at Ngorongoro conservation area and the famous Ngorongoro crater. A unique habitat which hosts many wild animals. So many, that it has in fact, the worlds most dense population of grazing wild animals per square meter on the planet! The last day of our trip we’ll visit Tarangire National Park. A huge national park famous for its big elephant population and many baobab trees. You’ll be sure to see many!
*On these safari’s its possible to join a group, to keep the cost low. You can also camp out with your own group and have your camping safari tailor-made to create your group’s ultimate adventure.
This day we will visit Lake Manyara national park, one of the smaller national parks of Tanzania. It’s named after its huge lake take covers most of the area. Nonetheless, Lake Manyara is one of the parks with the biggest variety of landscapes.
You can find yourself in thick woodlands where elephants feast and hunters are hidden, muddy pools filled with hippo’s, mysterious jungle area’s where monkeys rule, desert-like areas where giraffes pass through and the edge of the lake, where thousands of flamingo’s have their summer homes.
Of course not to forget about the impressive 400 meters deep Rift Valley Escapment. A tear in the earth that stretches out for thousands of Kilometers across East-Africa.
After breakfast, we will drive towards a steep and narrow road that takes you into the Ngorongoro crater. A bumpy, but adventureous road with some beautiful views! The slopes are forested, but soon the landscape changes to savannah.
Down in the crater, you’ll be able to spot many animals from a distance. Here is your best chance to spot all the members of the Big 5, including the endangered black rhino!
After the first gamedrive we’ll have a relaxing picknick-lunch at a hippo-filled lake. After lunch, we’ll slowly drive back to the edge of the crater and stop whenever we pass an interesting sight!
Today we will visit Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire river that crosses the national park.
Tarangire is famous for its big herds of elephants and huge, ancient baobab trees. The elephants that live here are bigger and stronger than in any other national park due to the many foodsources. You’ll be sure to see quite a few, along with many other animals that live here.
Other animals that can be found in Tarangire are lion, leopard, cheetah (rarely), caracal, giraffe, waterbuck, dik dik, impala, eland, Grant’s gazelle, baboons, monkeys & more!
During this trip we camp at several established campsites on the route. Here we will set up our tents. Our tents are of high quality, capable of withstanding all the wild conditions of the African savannah.
We use the newest, bigger tents to ensure a comfortable stay. All necessary camping equipment you need, will be provided. Please note that sleepingbags are not provided, as most people like to bring their own. If you don’t have one, they can be rented.
Camping is THE most adventurous way to do a safari and great for adventure-seekers and more budget-orientated travelers. Nothing get’s the adrenaline flowing more, than knowing that the only thing between you and a lion is a thin layer of canvas!
*Group joining prices are always the same. Take note that there aren’t unlimited amounts of groups available and we might have to share a car with some of our partners to get a group within your time-range. Please be as flexible as possible in your safari dates to ensure an available trip.
