The Trekking huts are simple and functional, with shared, dormitory-style bunk beds, basic washing facilities, and a dining area where meals are served. Sharing the space with other climbers gives these treks a more social atmosphere than routes where everyone sleeps in their own tent.
You will need to bring your own sleeping bag, as bedding is not provided. Other than that, your team handles the logistics and takes care of the practicalities, so your only job is to keep moving upward.
The Marangu route on Kilimanjaro and the Mount Meru trek are the only routes where Trekking Huts are available, making it a unique experience.
Huts along the route may vary in size and facilities. Photos shown are for reference only and may not reflect every location on your trek.
